Happy Trails, Cheryl

This morning Cheryl headed home to Nepal. I can’t believe how inconsiderate the Caltrans decision-makers were, not to consult her before closing the Bay Bridge for the weekend. Her seventeen-thousand pounds of luggage made BART an unpleasant and ultimately unworkable option. Luckily the Nimitz and the San Mateo Bridge were kind to us. And Old Blue handled the trip with such dignity and grace that, in a flash of wisdom, I decided not to sell him after all.

At the airport, the Northwest counter agent was adamant that Cheryl needed her visa before boarding the plane. Cheryl disagreed.

I asked Cheryl what a rupee looks like. Here’s about $20-worth.

Twenty pounds of computers are among the things on her back.
