Sweet Sixteen

Sixteen was the temperature this morning. Fortunately, it has rocketed up to 23. The sky is dramatic and threatening, icicles are getting long in the tooth, and there’s a lot of white stuff all around. This is the view from my “bedroom” window yesterday morning.

It’s  hard to believe that not long ago I was staring with trepidation at a schedule jammed with four month’s worth of classes. Now I’m starting the last full week before my internship.

My younger daughter wrote an academic paper and e-mailed it to me for my review:

The Glory of Ninna: A Critical Inquiry into the Role of Stench

In today’s society, it has been widely accepted that Virginia Allison is a paragon of virtue and light. Radiant beams shoot from her holy face, and dogs adore her. However, a less-frequently discussed element of her complex but charming personality is her sheer stinkiness. While some might allege that this delicate stench could never play as significant a role in her magnificence as does her massive butt, I argue otherwise. By its very definition, scent is both powerful and subtle, and so its effects may influence the recipient far more than they are aware. Concurrently, the Virginia Reek serves to pre-establish an atmosphere of daffodillian splendor, which in turn prepares her acolytes for the whole of her divinity.

My older daughter sent me this video, which is funny enough to put here:
