More Fun with Words

You know from past posts that I collect quotations, mixed metaphors and malapropisms. It’s been ages since I updated my list. Here are some of the recent wonders I’ve had the pleasure of stumbling upon.

Book review on Amazon

Suddenly she sees the girl, now a rich, beautiful socialist (every thing Claire wants to be) and suddenly plots her revenge.

Another friend, in conversation

I hope I’m not a hydro-chonderac.

I was telling this same person about a book that describes how birds got their names. S/he said…

And finally, a memorable moment provided by my six-year-old grandson, Jesse, as he and Eleni discussed body parts.

Jesse: When Mama Ginna was born, did she have a vulva?
Eleni: Yes.
Jesse: Does she still have one?
Eleni: Yes.
Jesse: It’s an old vulva.

Before I go, an update: I continue to monitor the status of the Dixie Fire daily. For weeks it looked as though the Summit Lake area, where we were to camp, would escape it. All of a sudden, today’s map shows that might not be the case.

P.S. Thanks, Josh, for introducing me to the the ezgif.com animation website.

  1. Heard in St. Thomas:”He didn’t know which side his butter was breaded on”.

And your sainted father, thanking a neighbor for teaching him how to make home brew: “Waldo, I owe you an eternal gret of datitude”.

  2. “a rich, beautiful socialist (every thing Claire wants to be)” – ain’t that what we ALL want to be? Ha ha.
