Lulu’s Dream

As I tear around my house on the eve of my departure, wanting just to revel in being here by the fire with my pup but having to finish cleaning/vacuuming tasks instead, my spirits are once again leaden.

I’m chatting with Molly at the moment. Here’s what she wrote:

“I should tell you about my dream at some point… Brief summary: I dreamed I’d applied/been accepted at this East Coast school. And so I was all excited and flurrying to go there. And writing to my bosses, saying I’d have to quit, which was kinda nice (break from work)…

“And I got there, and it was snowy and beautiful and it was just so much more … exhilarating? involving? than what I’m doing here. And it was just this whole new world, this lovely change. I dunno. I’ve forgotten a lot of the details, but I just remember that feeling — this excitement of something new.

“Maybe you can find the same thing. I thought it was an interesting coincidence.”

Me: “So it was a good dream? And you’re thinking it was channeling my experience?”

Lulu: “More likely, my brain stole it from your life and tried it on for size.”

I’ve been saying goodbye to people each day. Here are some of them.

And here are some messages I’ve gotten randomly from my computer. It’s a little creepy, how our computers talk to us and what they know about us.

  1. Your daughter rambles like a crazy little creature. You should have someone look at her.

That Mark99op from SeniorPeopleMeet looks like a handsome devil. Perhaps you should write to him and offer your love. And hey, since when did *46* y.o. count as “senior”? Sheesh.

I am going to work now, unlike some people I could name. Give Stella a few gentle whacks on the head for me (referred to in some cultures as “pats”).
